VIRTUAL: Coalition Against Family Policing: Monthly Meeting

August 17 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

From the Coalition Against Family Policing:

Hey everyone, Durham families continue to be under attack by the family policing system. And if we understand the history of this system, we know that it will not be the system itself that provides the solutions our families need. We keep us safe. Organizing together is how we keep families together.

This month, the Coalition to End Family Policing will be meeting virtually on Monday, August 17 fro 7-8:30pm. While we usually gather in person, we’re excited to create space for people to connect, learn, and organize from wherever they are. Join us as we work toward a Durham where families have what they need to thrive—not surveillance, investigation, and separation.

During the meeting, we’ll have an opportunity to break into smaller groups and organize more deeply around:

  • Education — building political education and helping our communities understand family policing
  • Policy — organizing for changes that move resources away from surveillance and toward families
  • Direct Action — taking collective action to challenge the people and institutions harming Durham families

Whether you’re new to the coalition or have been organizing with us for years, there is a place for you in this work. We look forward to seeing you Monday evening and continuing to build our collective power. Click this link to register for the meeting. Zoom link will be sent after registration.
